• Requirement :  60 hours of CCAR-approved training required. This must include:
• Education/Training : 

* CCAR Recovery Coach Academy (30 hours)
* CCAR Ethical Considerations for Recovery Coaches (16 hours)
* PRTSS Change the Narrative (16 Hours) or Additional CCAR or pre-approved training (14 hours).

• Bundle that meets initial certification training hours :  CCAR RCA, CCAR Ethics, Change the Narrative.
• Experience :  Submit a resume or a written summary describing relevant lived or professional experience in addiction recovery.
• Interview :  A mandatory, rigorous live interview with a panel of CCAR leaders and current RCPs to assess coaching capability and skills in a scenario-based format.
• Exam :  No written exam is required for the RCP designation.
• Lived Experience :  The designation is available to all (people in recovery, family, friends, allies); there is no prerequisite or specific length of time in recovery required.
• Certifying Body :  These trainings are approved through Center for Addiction Recovery Training (CART) (an arm of CCAR).
