In this training participants will :
Define Medication Supported Recovery and discuss how it relates to our work as Peer Supporter Learn the some principles of supporting a Medication supported pathway of recovery, and how it is done in the preservation of the Peer Role We will identify and discuss different types of medication supported recovery’ We will discuss some myths and fact about MSR Review a transtheoretical approach to the Stages of Change as it applies to multiple pathways. Testing our own biases, defining Implicit biases & what we can do to address them. Defining stigma, the cycle and attributes of stigma, the effects of stigma, how biases and stigmas work together, and what we can do to combat stigma. Will be able to practice these skills in an interactive way.
This training is Approved towards the MSR training requirement for Initial Certification or Renewal for the following certifying Boards
New York (NYCB) for CRPA & CARC approved hours – 4 Elective Hours
